Sunflower Burgers and Bhajis

This recipe is adapted from Kate Wood’s excellent Sunflower Sausages recipe in Eat Smart Eat Raw. I used the recipe today to make some big burgers and some little bhajis (see photo).

2 carrots
200g cabbage or cauliflower (cabbage makes a drier burger which is quicker to dehydrate)
125 g sunflower seeds, ground
1/2 onion
2 tbsp flax seed, ground
Instead of 2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes (which I haven’t found yet):
1 tsp veg stock powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp cumin, ground
1/2 red chilli, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp nama shoyu

Grind sunflower seeds and flax seeds.
Roughly chop the carrots and cabbage into the food processor
Add all ingredients and process to a thick paste.
Shape into burgers.
Dehydrate for 4 hours.
